Siliguri Merchant’s Association established in the year 1941,is one of the oldest and biggest food grain Association of North East India. The Naya Bazar region under this caters to the needs of not only North Bengal but it also is the main Mandi for Sikkim,Parts of Bihar,Doars Region, North East States.Borders of neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan & Nepal being at closet vicinity to Siliguri have enabled the growth of business and have made Siliguri the biggest and indespensable trade hub.
The legacy of the Association is such that it has great acceptability and honour at all Government Departments,Administrative Divisions,Political Corridors,Social Platforms and amongst the entire community as a whole. The association acts as a bridge between the trader sand the various government departments and allows the smooth functioning of business in the market premises.
Other than its responsibilities towards the wellbeing,welfare and betterment of trade and traders it also believes that “Service to Mankind is the Best Work of Life” hence takes and executes programme and project with such feelings too.
